Cape Town

Cape Town sits between a flat-topped mountain and the cold Atlantic, a city where penguins, vineyards and long white beaches all fall within the same day. It is known for its wind, its seafood, its wine routes and the sharp light that photographers chase. People come for hiking, whale watching in season, and streets that mix many cultures. It suits travellers who like a city with wild edges rather than a resort bubble. A stay here is often based in a villa, which gives you space to spread out, cook with local produce and take your time over breakfast before heading out. Days tend to follow the weather: beach when the wind drops, mountain when it does not. Evenings are long and cool, made for a braai and a view of the lights coming on below.
