Netherlands

The Netherlands is a small, flat country of canals, bike paths and wide skies, where you are rarely far from water or from the next town. It suits travellers who like to move around easily, whether that means quiet polder villages, historic city centres or the long North Sea coast. Two apartments are listed here so far, both a practical base for exploring at your own pace. A stay here tends to be simple and unhurried. You cycle or take the train, stop for coffee, watch the weather change over open fields, and come back to a place of your own in the evening. Spring brings tulips and longer days, summer brings the coast, and autumn and winter are quieter, with fewer visitors and lower light.
