Despre Umbria

Umbria sits at the centre of Italy, landlocked and green, with hill towns of stone, olive groves and vineyards, and the Apennines rising along its eastern edge. It is a region people come to for slow days, medieval streets and food that follows the seasons. Our places to stay here are villas, four of them, which suits families or groups of friends who want space and a base of their own while exploring the towns and countryside around them. A stay in an Umbrian villa tends to mean long breakfasts outside, day trips to hill towns, and evenings back at the table. Summers are warm and dry, winters cooler and quieter. You will want a car for the smaller roads, and comfortable shoes for the slopes of the old centres. It is a region that rewards unhurried travellers.
