Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a small Central American country with coastlines on both the Pacific and the Caribbean, a spine of volcanoes and cloud forest running through the middle, and one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the world. It is known for its national parks, its wildlife, its coffee, and a national mood summed up in the phrase pura vida. Travelers come here for surfing, hiking, birdwatching, and warm water, and they tend to move slowly once they arrive. A stay here usually means a villa, somewhere with space to spread out and a private place to come back to after a day outside. Mornings are for coffee on the terrace and planning the day; afternoons for the beach, the rainforest, or a hot spring. Evenings are quiet, and often early. Two villas are listed on this site so far, both in Costa Rica.
