Villa Tafuri sits in the beautiful Salento region of Apulia. Originally a 15th-century watchtower, then a 17th-century noble residence, the property has been expertly renovated and transformed into a luxury villa; however, it still retains its historic charm and many of its original Baroque features. Enveloped by expansive vineyards and olive groves and spanning four hectares, the villa’s grounds offer plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. A beautiful, fenced citrus garden with stone columns provides a shady place to wander, whilst the sprawling lawn dotted with trees is perfect for enjoying a picnic of the property’s organic produce. A paved terrace beside the villa is ideal for outdoor dining and socialising, whilst the first-floor balconies offer beautiful panoramic views. Surrounded by stone pavers and carefully-manicured lawns, the private swimming pool provides respite from the heat, whilst poolside sun loungers are ideal for topping up a tan or enjoying a holiday read. Indoors, the villa features high, vaulted ceilings, whitewashed walls with several preserved frescoes in muted tones, and fireplaces embedded in the stone walls. The minimalist décor allows the structure and its history to be the focus, yet guests can still enjoy all the modern comforts expected in a luxury villa. The spacious, open-plan living area comprises a cosy lounge area surrounding a fireplace, an elegant wooden dining table for convivial meals, and a modern, fully-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing delicious feasts. There are four double bedrooms in the main villa, plus a one-bedroom dependence, sleeping up to 10 guests in comfort. On the ground floor of the main villa, two bedrooms share a shower room and a common area, and two on the top level share a bathroom and a common area leading out to a balcony, which overlooks the pool and gardens. The dependence features one en-suite double bedroom that opens directly onto the garden. For guests looking for an authentic Italian experience in a property teeming with history, Villa Tafuri is hard to beat. *CIS: LE07503032000026032 / CIN: IT075030B400085479*
