Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is a large region in the southeast of France, stretching from the volcanic hills of the Auvergne to the Alps along the Italian and Swiss borders. It takes in mountain peaks, deep lakes, rivers and farmland, with Lyon as its main city. People come here to walk and ski in the mountains, swim in the lakes in summer, and eat well in the towns and villages along the way. We list cabins, apartments and villas in the region, so a stay can look quite different depending on where you choose. Days tend to follow the season and the landscape: snow and chairlifts in winter, marked trails and lake beaches in summer, quiet roads and market towns in between. It suits travellers who like being outdoors and don't mind a bit of driving to get there.
