Despre Rotterdam

Rotterdam is the Netherlands' second city and its biggest port, rebuilt after the Second World War into a skyline of bold modern architecture. It sits on the Nieuwe Maas river, with a working harbour at its heart, a lively cultural scene, and a mix of students, workers and travellers. It suits people who like cities that feel lived-in and forward-looking rather than quaint. A stay here usually means an apartment as a base for wandering: along the river and the old harbour areas, past striking buildings, markets and museums, with cafés and bars filling up in the evening. The coast at Hoek van Holland is part of the municipality for days when you want sand and sea air. It is easy to fill a few days without rushing.
