Villa · an entire place

10 guests · 4 bedrooms · 4 beds · 3 bathrooms

Just steps from the Greek theater and plenty of must-sees in the pedestrian-friendly heart of Taormina, this stunning Sicily vacation rental is a private haven that will transport you into a rich cultural experience. Once a medieval palazzo, this residence is now a four-bedroom contemporary sanctuary that can welcome up to eight friends or family members. Your holiday at this historic property includes the services of a housekeeper and porter (as there is no elevator). Soak in the Mediterranean sun from several al-fresco terraces, including a courtyard with Roman-style mosaics and an orange tree, a terrace lined with loungers and one with a shaded outdoor dining area. Other amenities include a TV, Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning, and, as this is Italy, an espresso machine. Though it retains details like well-proportioned rooms, high ceilings and cotto floors, the villa has been completely restored to modern standards of luxury. Gorgeous examples of contemporary Italian design furnish the sunny living room and two dining areas, and the state-of-the-art kitchen is fully equipped. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor of the house with en-suite bathrooms and two on the upper story that share access to a hallway bathroom; all four have double beds. One of the ground-floor bedrooms boasts views of the neighboring gardens of a school, while from the second floor, you can glimpse the sea. A favorite oceanfront destination since the 19th century, Taormina has historic sites, awe-inspiring churches, beautiful beaches and a range of shopping and dining to appeal to everyone from families to honeymooners seeking sun. Don’t miss the ruins of the Greek theater, an ancient structure that still hosts occasional performances, or a visit to Taormina Beach, only a 10-minute drive from the villa.
