Villa · an entire place

12 guests · 5 bedrooms · 5 beds · 5 bathrooms

Just as nearly 25 acres of organic vineyards separate the villa from the rest of the world, this charming Provence vacation rental will help separate you from your cares. A peaceful retreat in the Luberon countryside outside Gordes, this beautifully updated farmhouse offers traditional architecture with a touch of modern luxury. Reserve its five bedrooms for a French escape with up to ten friends or family members. A greeter bearing a welcome basket will meet you upon arrival to start your holiday on a pampered note. Once you’re settled in, stroll the vineyards and private gardens, catch up on reading on a lounger by the pool, sip a bottle from the wine cellar at one of the outdoor sitting areas, and prepare dinner on the barbecue in the outdoor kitchen to serve at one of the al-fresco tables. Behind the vine-covered stone walls and shutter-clad windows of the villa are equally quaint, yet comfortable, interiors. Unwind in graceful sofas perched in front of fireplaces, try out local fare in the fully equipped kitchen and plan the next day’s adventures around a dining table that seats twelve. Though this former farmhouse has ample historic charm, it also has state-of-the-art amenities from an espresso machine and iPod dock to a DVD player and Wi-Fi. The villa has three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (two with king beds and one with two twin beds) and two bedrooms with king beds and separate bathrooms. All five bedrooms are named for Provençal villages and, like the rest of the house, are air conditioned. If you simply want a quiet honeymoon from real life, a holiday may be just what you need. But for those who want a little adventure, the area around the villa is well worth exploring. Drive into the nearby village of Coustellet for its Sunday market or lavender museum, or up to the picturesque hilltop village of Gordes for a look at its abbey and bories, or traditional stone houses.
